We’ve mentioned just a couple of times that we went on a trip to Paris, and during that trip we got together with an awesome photographer who we promised to tell you all about as soon as it was time to share our pictures! Well I am SO beyond excited to tell you that the day is finally here where we get to share some of our favorites from our shoot with the ever-so-lovely Ian Holmes Photography. It was really important to Ben and I that we find someone who we thought could capture our day out in Paris in a timeless, almost film-like way. And from the moment we stumbled onto Ian’s website, we knew that he was the perfect guy for the job! We spent four hours wandering through the city, and even though it went by far too fast it was honestly one of the most magical days of my life. There aren’t really enough words to explain how incredible of an experience this was, or how many feels I had throughout the entire thing, so instead I will let Ian’s beautiful work do the talking.

To Ben, I wrote you this. While you were curled up in the bed of the teeny box we called our hotel room. Because sleeping too soon would have ended what was a truly perfect day.

It’s 1:34 in the morning, and I’m writing this down. Even though I’m tired and I know it’s time to go to bed. And even though I feel everything I feel so intensely right now that I don’t think I could forget it even if I lived a thousand lifetimes. But I want you to know that everything about this day was more perfect than I could have ever asked for and I don’t want to forget a single moment. I want to remember the way you looked standing in the middle of the Louvre, with violin music slowly wafting in from a nearby corridor. And how I watched you and felt such an immediate need to both cry and smile at the same time that such a feeling could only be caused by the most immense of loves. I don’t want to forget the words you whispered in my ear as I asked for you to wait to take my hand, or the way your arm wrapped around the small of my back as you held me by the twinkle of the eiffel tower. These words aren’t just something cute to put on our blog, or an opening for some pictures that I think will just look good to have. These words are one simple truth that I hope you know and always will. You are the reason behind most every one of my smiles and the meaning to every day of my life. And while a simple “I love you” will never let you know all of that, I really, truly do.
