Well friends, somehow we have arrived at the end of 2014. And though I know saying this is even more over used than the word “adorbs” these days – I really don’t know where this year went. Like REALLY. It seems that the older we get the faster the year goes, and I have barely gotten to glance at the old year’s big to-do’s before it’s time to start planning for the new one. But before we amp up for all the awesome 2015 is sure to bring, we most definitely can’t leave 2014 behind without reminiscing about so many of our favorite moments.
We shot 31 weddings, and even got to travel to other states (and another country!) to document some pretty awesome love stories. We had work featured on the Today Show, Good Morning America, and in publications all over the world (including our very first magazine!) Ben turned the big three-oh, we had our own photo shoot in Paris, and we started the process of making our house a home. This year definitely didn’t happen without a ton of hard work, and of course had some bumps along the way. I know it wasn’t perfect, but looking back I don’t remember any of the crazy stress-filled late nights or the days when the to-do list never stopped growing. I look back and see a year filled with love, exuding not only from all the sweet couples who invited us into their lives, but also from the amazing man who I get to tell their stories with.
And because on the blog you usually only see the end result (without all of the craziness going on behind the lens) we of course have to bring you another year-end round of Sarah & Ben: Behind the Scenes!
So what did 2014 look like, you ask?
Well, Ben found new ways to light up my life . . . . (see what I did there?!)
. . . and I fell in love with couples who actually laughed at my horrible jokes.
Both of us found ourselves in water from time to time,
. . . and I explored multiple modes of transportation.
There were just a few silly faces,
some embarrassing moments caught on camera,
(hey, sometimes a girl just needs to adjust her leggings)
and a day where Ben *SWORE* to me I wasn’t wearing too much mustard.
(Spoiler alert: I WAS.)
Ben developed an apparent hatred for flowers . . . .
directed bridal parties. . .
. . . . and celebrated with them.
I assaulted a child . . .
. . . .and snuck in some very fast (and frizzy-haired) snacks,
while Ben continued to perfectly style wedding dresses.
He took care of boutonnieres while I took care of garters . . .
and I shot low while he went high.
We each took part in the occasional photo bomb. . . .
….some accidental and some very much on purpose.
We made sure our bride’s looked their best . . .
. . .and were pretty excited about love.
We may be pretty biased, but we think we spent 2014 with some of the best people in the world,
doing the best job ever,
and we’re so thankful for each and every person who came into our lives this year.
Happy New Year friends!
We wish you a 2015 full of so many amazing things. But most importantly we hope it’s full of love.
Love + Laughs,
Sarah & Ben
