He pulled her in tight, for their first kiss of the new year. Just as he had hours earlier for their first kiss as husband and wife. The balloons fell and champagne glasses clinked, and all the voices around them cheered as the countdown reached zero. And there, in the middle of a room filled with love and celebration, they started the new year, and their next chapter, together . . . .

Ashley and Alex are married! And friends, what a perfect Oxford Exchange wedding day this was. After an evening ceremony the two had a reception on New Year’s Eve, surrounded by their closest friends and family. It was such a perfect celebration filled with so many fun details. And it all culminated in an awesome NYE countdown and balloon drop.

Ashley wore a fitted gown adorned with a beaded belt, and free, flowing waves in her hair accented with braids (which Sarah dubbed the most magical mermaid-esque hair ever!) Then her girls sported simple, timeless black dresses perfect for the occasion. Additionally, Alex and all of his guys rocked suits from Ben’s favorite shop (the ever so awesome Black Tux) that had them looking every bit as snazzy. Before the ceremony we got all of the portraits of the day done so the newlyweds could start celebrating immediately afterwards. Above all, it was such a fun day that had a party vibe we simply adored.

After the ceremony in the glass-ceilinged conservatory, guests found their seats at the reception with party horn place cards. In addition to fun decor they also indulged in a delicious cannoli bar between rounds on the dance floor. We loved the unique cake topper A+A chose, opting for polaroids taken just minutes after their “I-Do’s” instead of something more traditional. After dinner it was fun to see how guests had so much fun rocking all the New Year’s accessories passed out when it got close to midnight.

Ashley and Alex, we loved spending our very last day of 2016 with you guys and know that 2017 is going to be your best year yet! Thank you for the honor of capturing your Oxford Exchange wedding day! Above all we hope you two love these as much as we loved creating them!
