museum of fine arts wedding: jennifer + jason

Her father held up two pieces of wood. He had made the shapes by hand, sanding and oiling and working them until they fit perfectly together. He spoke of how these two pieces had gone through a journey to get to this point, but now that they were together they were a perfect match. Just like the two people who stood before him. And as he set the pieces into their custom box, and topped them with the lid, he said it was to keep the love in. Just like the promise they would make to each other that day would keep in theirs . . . . . . . . .

Jason and Jenn are married! After a traditional ceremony the two of them had an energy-filled cocktail hour and reception at the Museum of Fine Arts. A color palette of navy and deep pink gave the day a cheery spring feel, and we loved all of the florals by Wonderland florist (especially Jenn’s bridal bouquet!) Jenn looked stunning in a fitted lace gown, which made it totally understandable that Jason teared up as she came down the aisle that afternoon.

Jenn’s father served as one of the ministers for the ceremony, which added such a meaningful touch to the words that were spoken that day. And in the middle of the ceremony, when he pulled out the custom wood creation he had made for the two of them, it was impossible not to get aaaalll the feels (and maybe shed a tear or two).  After the ceremony, the newlyweds walked with their bridal party to Straub Park for some pictures, before heading over to the museum for cocktail hour. We were surprised with a 5k in the middle of downtown, which changed our portrait plans just a bit, and Jenn and Jason were so laid back about it which is just a testament to the nature of these two. Throughout this whole process the focus of their wedding day has felt about marriage, and those are our most favorite kind days to document.

Jenn and Jason, every bit of time we have spent together has been so much fun and we are so sad to see it come to an end! We hope you love these every bit as much as we do.

Love + Laughs,

    Sarah and Ben,
You helped make our day special. When I started to worry about things, you assured me that all was well. You helped me rethink our plans at a moments notice and captured our special day perfectly. The reason we wanted to work with you was for the way you capture the love between people. Not only a marrying couple, but all the people who are their supporting them. Simply, you NAILED it. I can’t imagine this day without your skillful eyes catching the details. Thank you so much.
