She wore her mother’s lace and her grandmother’s collar. And even though she had made the dress on her own, it truly felt like it had also been made by so many others. Like it was not just made of material, but of all of the memories that each of the pieces had lived. And as she descended the stairs to become his wife that afternoon, ready to make some new memories of their own, the way he looked at her was one of those things that she would remember forever. It was the first of many memories that day which she would add to a dress that had already lived so much . . .

Katie and Andy are married! On a day that we have been looking forward to FOREVER, the two of them said their vows in the South Carolina sunshine before a warmly lit outdoor reception with their family and friends. They opted to do a first look (which we of course love!) and it was such a sweet moment for just the two of them. Katie made her dress (like legit MADE IT) from pieces of the wedding dresses from past weddings in her family, and it was seriously one of the most magical things ever. I honest to goodness cried (the ugly kind) when I saw it, just because it was so very perfect for her and carried so much meaning. And come on, she looked like a real, live Disney princess in it!
We think it is also only fair that we prepare you for the incredible style of this day, because Katie and Andy put together one of the most perfectly detailed days we have seen in a long time. They chose a gorgeous color palette, which felt like autumn in the coziest, and yet not at all stereotypical, of ways. There were touches of velvet throughout the day, and the favors consisted of an assortment of some of their fall favorites. All of the table runners at the reception were mismatched in a fabulously coordinated way, and the evening was lit by string lights and so, so many candles. It felt like a fairytale, and since this was day was part of a love story that has been in the making for quite some time, we can think of nothing more fitting.
Katie and Andy, we know we’ve told you two a million times, but we just adore you both more than you know. We have truly felt like the closest of friends ever since the day we first met, and we hope that friendship continues forever with tons of married people dates!
