They met on the front lawn. She walked up behind him, slowly so her veil wouldn’t catch on the walkway. And when he finally turned around to see her for the first time that day it was as if all of the nerves of the day so far melted away. It was just them. They laughed and she twirled and they talked in the way best friends do. And in that one simple moment it was so easy to see why they were getting married that day. Because each of them makes the other relax in the way you only do when you’re in your safest of places. Because in each other, they have each made their home . . . .

Kathryn and James are married! The two of them had a sweet ceremony at Andrews Memorial Chapel, followed by a reception at the gorgeous Fenway Hotel. We absolutely adored this combination of historic venues, and how they were the perfect setting for the timeless details of the day. Kathryn wore a beautifully fitted V-neck gown, which she accented with a sparkly gold belt and simple gold heels. James kept his wedding day look a surprise to his bride (we just love when grooms do this!) and debuted a streamlined gray suit that maaaaay have made us make a Mad Men reference or two ; ) Needless to say when these two saw each other for the first time that day there were SUCH big smiles and so much contagious energy that it was hard not to have all the feels right along with them.
After their ceremony (which had one of our favorite aisle-walk moments to date…Kathryn was just SO excited to be coming down the aisle to James) guests headed back to the Fenway for a cocktail hour on the string-light filled terrace. The bright and airy reception space was filled with stunning florals that featured dahlias and a cake sporting the custom monogram of their invitation. We honestly couldn’t have asked for a better day to begin our season, not only because it looked so good but because it felt so good too. Through every bit of this day you could feel that the most important thing to Kathryn and James was the marriage they were beginning, not the centerpieces or seating charts. And days centered around love stories are always our most favorite.
Kathryn and James, we’ve adored every bit of our time with you both and couldn’t have felt luckier to spend the day by your sides. We hope you love these as much as we loved making them!
