They stood together, hands entwined, as words of commitment and promise were spoken. The moment that they had planned for all the days and months before was finally here. It was perfect. And in a rush, they all of a sudden found themselves, and everyone who had ever mattered to them, hurrying for cover in the middle of their ceremony. The rain poured down and the two of them simply beamed at one another, shouting sweet words to each other above it’s roar. And then, in what seemed like an instant, it was over, and the two of them walked down the aisle again. This time she held his hand instead of her father’s and they were ready to finish what they had started moments earlier. The vows were vowed, the kiss was kissed, and they were finally husband and wife.
They say that rain on your wedding day is lucky, so it should be assumed that rain in the smack dab middle of your ceremony is a sign of double luck. But the two of them, they don’t need it. Because anyone who can smile through a storm as carefree and happily as these two did, who is simply happy to be with the person they love most, is undoubtedly meant to be. Because whether life brings the rainy days or the sunny ones, they’ll be happy just to walk through it together.

Catina + Hays are married! Their wedding was the very first of our fall wedding season and oh what a bar it set friends! The color palette of navy, marsala, blush and gold was executed perfectly, from the bridesmaid dresses to the gorgeous bouquets to all of the amazing reception details. It felt so perfectly “fall” while also being true to the setting. Catina wore a beautifully fitted gown with lace detail and what is perhaps the longest cathedral veil we’ve seen to date. It was full of SO much amazing drama, and made the moment she walked down the aisle even more breathtaking.
MMD Events did an INSANELY amazing job with all of the decor throughout the day, which was doubly impressive because just 48 hours before the wedding day the venue was changed to accommodate some bad weather and flooding. Seeing what they were able to do after just 48 hours of prep was mind boggling, and every single detail came together flawlessly! We loved all of the unique touches throughout the day, from the fact that Catina and Hays had their menus printed directly on guest’s napkins, to the fact that their wedding cake was on a legit SWING. Every bit of this day was so perfect that when they exited through a tunnel of sparklers at the end of the day we couldn’t help but get a little teary at the sheer magic of it all.
Catina and Hays, we absolutely adore you both to bits and couldn’t have loved being a part of this day any more. You guys are two of the sweetest people we’ve ever had the pleasure of photographing, and we hope you love this peek into your best day ever as much as we loved making it.
Love + Laughs,
Sarah & Ben
