They held hands and tiny slips of paper each had ripped from the hotel pad. He said there were so many promises he could make to her, but for time purposes he would make the ones he knew would matter most. And she laughed, in the way only he could get her to, and made some promises of her own. They spoke softly, laughed genuinely, and shared a kiss that mattered more than any that had come before.
And as they came up the aisle with the widest of smiles, their tightly clasped hands spoke the words their mouths didn’t need to. Each said “I love you” and the other said “I know”. . . . .

Emily and Robert are married! In what may be the most intricately themed wedding we’ve ever been invited to document, these two joined their hands, hearts and light sabers! Yes, friends, that’s right! This wedding went to the galaxy and back with some preeeettty epic Star Wars details. After donning a stunning gown with accents of beading and lace Emily grabbed her light saber and headed out to meet Robert for a first look at Selby Gardens. It was such a sweet moment when they got to see each other for the first time that day, with tons of laughter and the biggest of smiles. From there we were met by each of their closest friends and the six of us set out to explore the picturesque grounds.
The ceremony included self-written vows, which are ALWAYS our favorite, and a floating arch made by Tailored Twig that was seriously out of this world. (Get it?! ; ) And after coming up the aisle the newlyweds took a few sunset pictures before heading to meet their guests at cocktail hour. There were Porgs and Ewoks nestled into the trees and custom details in every little nook. One of our favorites was their unique take on a guestbook, where guests signed wooden R2D2s and dropped them into a Millenium Falcon. After all the delish snacks (and a custom cocktail or two) guests headed to the reception while Emily and Robert stayed behind to share their first dance alone beneath the string lights.
When guests entered the reception it was baaasssically like being transported to another galaxy. The tablescape, which included velvet linens, modern cutlery and intricate florals took our breath away, and the custom lighting in the room was the perfect backdrop for it all. In fact, the entire reception setup was so gorge it was hard to know where to look next. There were stars in the sky, seating lounges with games, and a cake so epic we’ve officially dubbed it “the mic drop of cakes”. It was SUCH a perfect day for these two, and every bit of it ran smoothly thanks to the always incredible ladies of NK Weddings.
Emily and Robert, we were so happy to finally meet you both and spend the day by your side’s! Thank you for being so insanely sweet and for making every bit of it so fun!
Love + Laughs,
