When we first met Anne and Steven, we sat and talked for three full hours about absolutely anything and everything. From Netflix faves to how many times we’ve each read Harry Potter, there was such an easiness to our conversation that we left feeling like we had just caught up with old friends. Needless to say, we couldn’t wait to see them again, and lucky for us we didn’t have to wait long!
The Sunday after our coffee date we had the awesome opportunity of getting to travel out to Egmont Key for their engagement session, and it was such a fun adventure! When Anne told us how special the island was to her (it was the ACTUAL place where she took her first steps as a baby!) we knew there was no better place for us to shoot, and when we got there we were in awe of how beautiful everything was. From the old fort ruins to the turtles everywhere (which Sarah found so stinkin’ magical) we had SO much fun exploring.
But our favorite thing about the session wasn’t the way they laughed so easily together or even how in love they clearly are. It was halfway through their session, when a legit MONSOON swept over the island, and we found ourselves racing back to the house in a golf cart. And as our ride got slower and slower, and then even slower, we realized we were going to be STUCK. So the four of us got out, and in a rain storm as torrential as the famous scene in The Notebook, we walked the rest of the way back. Anne’s hair and makeup had officially been power washed, and Steven’s loafers were making a squidgy noise with every step. And as they walked, they made jokes and laughed with one another. To us, there is no better example of their love than that. They literally walked through a storm together, a storm that had majorly thrown their plans off course, and because they were together they did it while smiling. That’s the kind of love we feel so incredibly honored to document.
Anne and Steven, if you didn’t know already we just adore you two to bits and are SO excited to be the lucky ones to spend your best day ever by your side! We had such a fun afternoon of shooting and adventuring and monsooning with you guys, and can’t wait to see you again soon!
Love + Laughs,
Sarah & Ben
