Their hands each clutched the metal, and as they pulled it from the fire and pushed it into the plaque together everyone cheered. The metal still bore the flames of the fire that had heated it, and the smell of burning wood filled the air. And after a moment they pulled the branding iron back to reveal their initials, separated solely by a heart, forever emblazoned in the wood, which was now forever changed just like the hearts the initials stood for . . . . .

Jennifer and Zach are married! The two of them had a beautiful outdoor wedding day at Barrington Hills Farm, on a sunny fall day. Jennifer wore a lace-detailed dress with an asymmetrical design and her favorite pair of boots that were just perfect for the farm affair. Bridesmaids were dressed in a deep plum color which complemented the season, and each of them tied their dress in a different way to reflect their personal style. After the ceremony (which was held beneath the most beautiful moss-filled tree) the newlyweds had some fun exploring the property, and even had a quick visit with an ever so handsome four-legged visitor (who got a celebratory apple in lieu of wedding cake ; )
We loved the entire feel of this day, from the excitement in the air as Zach waited to get his first glimpse of his bride to the sweetness the two of them so easily shared during their portrait time. But one of our favorite moments came during the reception, when the bride and groom opted to have a branding ceremony in which they burned a wooden plaque with a custom made branding iron. We loved the symbolism and meaning of the ceremony and thought it was such a perfect way to commemorate their new adventure as husband and wife.
Jennifer and Zach, thank you both so much for entrusting us with your wedding day! We loved not only spending the day with you guys but getting to know you throughout the planning process as well! Can’t wait to see you both again soon!
